Trail Maintenance Day on the PCT

Trail Maintenance Day on the PCT

Our team has a passion for adventuring the outdoors, inspiring our Rock Point Wines and our continued partnership with the Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA). This Monday, August 29th, 2022, our sales and winemaking teams participated in our second annual trail maintenance day. Early Monday morning we drove up into the Pacific Crest Trail section located just off Dead Indian and Keno Road. We hiked north from the Griffin Pass trailhead and started working about a mile in. There we cleared the overgrown brush along the sides of the trail for roughly a half of a mile. The day was perfect for being out in the wilderness. We are grateful to help, and we are already talking about next year, however, Jean-Michel needs to slow down his hiking pace for the rest of us.

Our Rock Point partnership began in 2021 with Oregon Distributor, Columbia Distributing, establishing a program to raise funds for the Pacific Crest Trail Association. For the months of August, and September 2022, $1 per bottle of Rock Point Wine sold in participating retailers will be donated to the Pacific Crest Trail Association to continue trail preservation efforts and upkeep. Del Rio Vineyards is only miles away from the Pacific Crest Trail, which provides a world class wilderness experience that allows people to connect with the great outdoors. The trail maintenance preserves our ecosystem and lessens the impact on the environment. What better way to meld two icons of Oregon and the West Coast!
