This 100% estate-grown Syrah is medium ruby in color. It opens with notes of blackberry, cassis, licorice, and white pepper. The nose is persistent, layered, and expressive, gaining complexity with time in the glass.

The first impression on the palate is a soft, full attack. As the wine opens, it reveals its true character, expanding into pronounced black pepper, black olive, and dark fruit flavors. With time, the tannins emerge, offering a fine, savory grip that adds structure. The mouthfeel is persistent and complex, carrying through to a long finish.

Enjoy a glass accompanied by beef stew, cassoulet, or lamb meatballs.
On the lighter side, this Syrah would taste delightful with a charcuterie &
cheese board or French onion soup.

South facing, our Southern Oregon vineyard estate is located at the
northern end of the Rogue Valley. With elevations ranging from 700 to
1,800 feet, the primarily ancient volcanic and alluvial fan soils provide
well-drained, nutrient-rich soils which are ideal for growing premium
wine grapes.

After de-stemming, the Syrah grapes are lightly crushed into stainless steel vats. When fermentation starts, the wine undergoes methodical aeration at
moderate temperatures to extract soft tannin and color. Towards the end of the maceration, pump-over is limited to nonexistent. Finally, when mouthfeel
objectives are reached, the grapes are gently pressed and barreled down. We
then aged the Syrah in 5% neutral French oak barrels and 95% stainless steel
for 16 months in a reductive environment. Omitting fining to maintain texture, the wine was then filtered and bottled.
