Del Rio Vineyard Estate, family owned and operated, has officially opened its 7th season of their U-Pick Zinnia Flower Farm from now until the first frost of the autumn season. Gracing the base of the 300-acre vineyard estate is a beautiful half acre Farm of Zinnias. The Zinna Farm began in 2016 by Jolee Wallace, owner of Del Rio Vineyards. The Farm reflects Jolee and Del Rio’s commitment to the community and cultivating kindness. As the Zinnia Farm has grown a part of the heart of Del Rio, it now holds a special place in the branding and story of the Jolee Wines: Rose, Pinot Gris & Rouge. The Zinnia Farm, like the Jolee wines, are designed to be shared and enjoyed together, while promoting the message of cultivating kindness.
The public is welcome to pick Zinnias for free. The only rule is to Flower-it-Forward: for every bouquet you pick for yourself, Jolee asks that you pick one for someone else. Share the beauty and gift of flowers with someone in a care facility, a friend in need, or even a stranger in need of a smile. Flowers are open for picking from dawn to dusk. The tasting room is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for summer hours, and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. beginning September 5.
Water and vases are available for those that do not have their own, and vase donations are happily accepted! Guests are reminded that flowers are not for resale or for events. Be kind in taking what you need and leaving some for others. Share your “Flower it Forward” adventures with us on social media by tagging @delriovineyards on Instagram or Facebook and using hashtags #floweritfoward and #culitvatekindness.
