A Holiday appetizer, made easy!
Cabernet Sauvignon and steak are a classic pairing, celebrated for good reason. The tannins in Cabernet bind with the proteins in steak, softening the wine's astringency and acting as an ideal palate cleanser between bites of rich, juicy meat. This dynamic combination enhances the flavors of both, making each bite and sip more enjoyable.
These steak and burrata crostini with a balsamic glaze are a delicious twist on this pairing. They’re easy to make yet elegant, combining tender steak with creamy burrata on a crispy crostini, all brought together with the sweet acidity of a balsamic drizzle. Perfect for impressing guests at a holiday party or indulging in a simple yet sophisticated snack!
Ingredients:
- Steak, seasoned to your liking
- Baguette, sliced
- Burrata
- Truffle balsamic glaze
- Chives, chopped
- Flaky sea salt
How-to:
- Toast the baguette slices by either:
- Place baguette slices on a cookie sheet, drizzle with olive oil and toast them in the oven until golden brown, or
- Heating olive oil in a frying pan, placing the slices in the pan, and flipping once browned on one side. Watch closely as the second side browns.
- Season the steak generously with salt and pepper. Cook your preferred doneness (we recommend medium-rare), then let it rest for about 10 minutes. Thinly slice the steak.
- Arrange the toasted baguette rounds on a serving plate. Top each with burrata, a slice of steak, a drizzle of balsamic glaze, chopped chives, and flaky salt to taste.
